Practical Worked Example
Consider a 3-bedroom residence in Lagos or Abuja with a daily load profile of 6.5 kWh (running a refrigerator, TV, lighting, fans, and laptop work stations):
- Gross Generation Needed: 6.5 kWh รท (1 - 0.25) = 8.67 kWh
- Wattage Required: (8.67 ร 1,000) รท 5.0 sun hours = 1,733 Watts peak (Wp)
- Panel Count Recommendation: Sizing with modern 450W mono-perc panels requires
1,733 / 450 = 3.85โ rounded up to 4 panels (1,800W total array).
